codai: AI Assistant & Agent

codai is an AI assistant and agent for Android. You type or say what you need in plain language, and codai gets it done on your phone: alarms, calendar, notifications, files, voice notes, images, music and more. It shows every step and asks before anything you might regret.

What can codai do?
• Answer questions about your phone: "What's on my calendar tomorrow?", "Which alarms are set?", "What did Ana just send me?"
• Do everyday tasks: set alarms and timers, add calendar events, open apps and links, share text, reply to a notification, start a call.
• Read the documents and PDFs in your Downloads folder, and keep notes and files in codai's own folder.
• Record and transcribe meetings, lectures and voice notes. You get a summary, key points and action items, and you can export to PDF, DOCX, SRT or Markdown or share a read-only link.
• Create with codai Studio: images, voice-overs, music, sound effects, short videos, documents, slide decks and spreadsheets, all from a prompt.
• Schedule tasks: "every weekday at 8, summarise my unread notifications." Schedules run on time, and the ones that need approval wait for your OK.
• Talk to it: real-time voice conversation, a floating bubble, a mini chat, a home-screen widget and a Quick Settings tile.
• Run long tasks in the background for hours. Pause and continue them whenever you want, or run several at once.
• Run your own step-by-step recipes: you write the steps, and codai repeats them in the apps you choose, only when you tap Run.

Is it safe?
• codai only acts when you ask, and only while that task is running.
• Before it sends a message, places a call or changes your calendar, you see a confirmation card. Nothing is sent or bought behind your back.
• You pick the autonomy level: strict (confirm everything), assisted (the default) or autopilot.
• You can stop a task at any time. Every session has a time and spending budget, and a cost receipt.
• This Google Play version does not use the Accessibility API to control other apps on its own.

Does it work offline?
Yes, for simple steps. An optional on-device model (Gemma 4 via LiteRT-LM, plus our codai-nano variants, about 2.6 GB, downloaded only if you want it) runs on the phone and hands over to the cloud when a task is too hard.

Can I use it on my other devices?
Yes. Turn on session sync and the same conversation follows you live to the web, your Windows PC, VS Code and your Wear OS watch. Interactive cards for weather, tables, charts, maps and media look the same everywhere. Dispatch lets you start a task on your phone from another device.

Can I use my own AI key?
Yes. Use the codai cloud, or add your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Your keys stay on the device and go only to the provider you chose.

What about privacy?

On your watch
codai also runs as a standalone Wear OS 3+ app. Ask by voice, follow and control your sessions, answer a session's questions from the notification, approve scheduled tasks, record voice notes, and use the tile, complication and assistant shortcut.

Requirements: Android 11 or newer on a 64-bit (arm64) phone. The on-device model works best on recent flagship phones. Some features need a codai account. The codai cloud service is a separate hosted product.
