About this app

You can use the Vy app to quickly find departures for journeys by train, bus, metro, tram and boat across Norway. You can buy tickets from Vy and other transport companies such as Go-Ahead, SJ, Ruter, Kolumbus, Skyss and Brakar. It should always be easy to make the eco-friendly choice when travelling, so the Vy app also lets you:

· See relevant suggested itineraries in the journey planner – including how long it takes to walk or bike
· Get real-time information on all departures
· Receive push notifications about delays and cancellations affecting your journey
· View your tickets and present your ticket for inspection
· Check how full each carriage on your train is
· Save your favourite routes and places that you frequently visit
· Book taxis across much of the country
· Listen to audiobooks and podcasts, and read newspapers and magazines

Thank you for travelling by public transport. Every journey counts!

The app crashed on my phone and had to reinstall. I had to transfer my ticket to the same device i reinstalled the app on. I understand why my period ticket is locked to a device however the app informed me that I could only transfer it up to 2 more times. No other ticket apps in Norway give this limitation, there is no reason this should be the case with VY. They are supposed to provide a service that is paid for. I rely on the trains for my commute. I expect stability from the trains.

forces you to create an account to add tickets you already bought. there is no reason for this from a technical point of view aside from the half a dozen data collection requests and marketing emails that you have to decline during sign up.

Hi, there isn't "half a dozen data collection requests" when registering. We need to have an account to show tickets in the app. On longer train journeys (like Oslo-Bergen), you're perfectly fine having the ticket as pdf on your phone. For local tickets, you need to register in the app.

Booking experience is horrible. I booked a ticket from Bergen to Flam. But later realized that I need to book the second part of the ticket separately. Most of the time tickets are not visible but CS has access to the ticket.

Hi, you can indeed buy the whole journey on our website. You get two tickets, as these are two separate lines.

What's new

We’ve tidied up, fixed and improved a few things here and there in the app. Here are some of the changes you might notice: The app has a new bottom menu. When you renew a season ticket, the new one starts when the old one ends. Just as it should. The Buy ticket and Ticket inspection shortcuts now also work when the app is fully closed.
