ECG Cases is a quiz-based way to practise ECG interpretation on real 12-lead recordings, not on drawings. Look at the tracing, choose the finding, then see exactly which leads give it away and why.
It is made for medical students, nursing students, paramedics, junior doctors and anyone who wants reading an EKG to become a habit instead of a guess.
REAL 12-LEAD ECGS YOU CAN TRUST
• 659 recordings from real patients, labelled by cardiologists
• A recording is used only when the cardiologist's diagnosis and an independent computer analysis (12SL) agree, and its measurements meet the criteria for that finding
• Printed the standard way: 12 leads, a long lead II rhythm strip, 25 mm/s, 10 mm/mV and a 1 mV calibration pulse
• Pinch to zoom into any complex
EVERY ANSWER EXPLAINED
• The leads that matter are tinted on the tracing, and the tracing stays on screen while you read
• Heart rate, PR interval, QRS duration, QTc and axis of that very recording
• The criteria for the finding, in plain words
• Wrong answer? You see what you chose and what it really was
MEASURE LIKE ON PAPER
Drag the calipers across the tracing to measure any interval in milliseconds, with the matching heart rate.
WHAT YOU PRACTISE
• Rhythm: normal sinus rhythm, sinus tachycardia, sinus bradycardia, atrial fibrillation, paced rhythm, premature ventricular complexes
• Conduction: first degree AV block, left bundle branch block, right bundle branch block, left anterior fascicular block
• Infarction and hypertrophy: inferior myocardial infarction, anteroseptal myocardial infarction, left ventricular hypertrophy
• Answer options are chosen from the findings most often confused with the right one
16 SHORT LESSONS
One page per finding: how to recognise it, where to look, common traps, and real example recordings. Also covers atrial flutter, Wolff-Parkinson-White and long QT.
5 NEW CASES EVERY DAY
A short daily set, mixed practice or practice by group, a daily streak, and your score for each finding so you can see what still needs work.
IN YOUR LANGUAGE
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Indonesian, Turkish, Arabic and Vietnamese.
FREE AND PRO
Free: five cases for every finding, five new cases each day, all 16 lessons and two examples per lesson. No account, no ads.
ECG Cases Pro is a single purchase, not a subscription. It opens every case, every example, the calipers and the review of the cases you got wrong.
WORKS OFFLINE
Every recording is inside the app. Nothing you do in the app leaves your phone.
GOOD TO KNOW
• The recordings come from the PTB-XL and PTB-XL+ open datasets on PhysioNet (Wagner et al., Strodthoff et al.), used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Full credits are in the app.
• ECG Cases is a study aid. It is not a medical device, it does not interpret your own ECG, and it does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
