In 1420, Eleanor Cobham enters Henry V’s court hoping to marry well, but discovers her own ambition—and dares to reach for England’s throne. As in "The Other Boleyn Girl," the author takes the trumped-up charges devised to bring down a powerful woman, and weaves a story that imagines they were true. The main character is unlikable, yet the plot is compelling, the history fascinating, and the storytelling brilliant and immersive. The narrator does a great job. Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.
