About this ebook

A guinea-pig joins a travelling circus of north-country beasts and tours the fells with a pony, a dog and a company that pitches where no human can see it. It is her longest book and the only one written for herself. About the author

Beatrix Potter (1866–1943) drew and wrote the small books first as picture letters to a sick child, and published Peter Rabbit herself when publishers would not. She was also a serious mycologist whose paper the Linnean Society would not let her read in person, and she spent her last thirty years farming in the Lake District and buying land for the National Trust.
