Study organisational behaviour, human resource management, accounting, finance, marketing, strategy, operations, international business and entrepreneurship. Management models and worked calculations help clarify relationships that are easy to confuse when learned separately. Quantitative explanations connect the method with the decision it supports, while workplace examples encourage careful interpretation of people, processes and organisational choices. The lesson structure makes it easier to revisit a specific difficulty and connect it with neighbouring topics.
Reinforce your preparation with 500 original solved MCQs. Each unit includes 30 questions, and two full subject mocks add another 200 questions with separate explanations. Use the mocks for mixed practice, then revisit the reasoning behind uncertain and incorrect responses. Written by the Bookskart Expert UGC Panel and published by Bookskart India, this edition combines conceptual study, numerical work and substantial assessment. Make the time before exam day work for your weakest areas.
How to use this book
From definitions to managerial judgement
Management brings together explanations of human behaviour, economic choices, organisational design and the allocation of scarce resources. Knowing a definition is a beginning. A strong candidate must also recognise the assumptions of a theory, apply a technique to unfamiliar data and explain why a plausible alternative does not fit. This book develops those capabilities across every unit of the supplied UGC NET Management syllabus.
The ten units contain 460 teaching lessons. Read related lessons as connected chapters: for example, move from cost behaviour to contribution, break even analysis, variances and leverage before attempting a mixed financial decision. Short lesson boundaries make revision manageable while retaining explanatory prose, comparisons and worked applications. The unit sequence follows the syllabus; the contents and subject index provide additional routes through related topics.
An active reading routine
Start a lesson by stating its central problem in your own words. After reading, close the book and reconstruct the relationship, model or calculation. Reopen the relevant paragraph to correct omissions. For a numerical example, change one input and predict the direction of the result before calculating it. For a behavioural theory, construct a workplace situation in which its assumptions hold and another in which they do not.
Each unit ends with thirty original solved questions. Attempt them before reading their explanations. Keep a record of the reason for each error: missing knowledge, confusion between models, an incorrect assumption, arithmetic, or a misread qualifier. The explanation should repair the reasoning that produced the error. Repeating only the correct option is unlikely to achieve that repair.
Two full subject mocks contain another two hundred original questions. Their explanations appear separately so that they can be used under timed conditions. The mock distribution gives every unit ten questions per paper as a balanced editorial exercise. It is not a prediction of the distribution in an NTA examination.
Source identifiers connect the lessons to a linked bibliography. The index highlights substantive discussion of models, methods and terms. Use these tools to revisit a weak concept and its neighbours, then test whether you can transfer it to a different situation. All teaching and assessment text is in English.
