Charleen Lagasse is a licensed psychologist, productivity coach, and the founder of The Progress Practice, a coaching program dedicated to helping high-achieving perfectionists break free from procrastination and burnout. With over fifteen years of clinical experience, she has worked with executives, artists, entrepreneurs, and students who struggle with the paralyzing gap between their high standards and their actual output.
Charleen holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, where her research focused on the cognitive and emotional mechanisms of perfectionism. She later completed a postdoctoral fellowship in positive psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. Her work has been featured in *Psychology Today*, *The Harvard Business Review*, and *Forbes*, where she writes a monthly column on sustainable high performance.
In addition to her private practice, Charleen is a sought-after speaker for conferences and corporate workshops. She has delivered keynotes at Google, Microsoft, and the National Association of Women Business Owners, teaching audiences how to replace self-defeating perfectionism with purposeful action. Her first book, *The Procrastination Fix for Perfectionists*, grew out of her own decades-long struggle with the topic—a struggle she turned into a mission to help others stop waiting for perfect and start making progress.
Charleen lives in Portland, Oregon, with her partner and two rescue dogs. When she’s not coaching or writing, she can be found hiking in the Pacific Northwest, experimenting with sourdough baking (imperfect loaves welcome), or practicing the ukulele badly but joyfully. She believes that the most meaningful work comes from a place of self-compassion, curiosity, and the courage to begin before you feel ready.
