About this ebook

I should have packed a stake.

I thought a two-month cruise around Latin America would be filled with magical moments. I never imagined I’d be swimming with a mermaid or hiking through a rainforest with a werewolf. That is, until that fateful night when I met Thomas and the others out on deck and discovered that magic is real.

Now, they’re teaching me how to use my newfound powers and what’s more, they’ve welcomed me into the close-knit little family they’ve built together. Turns out we aren’t the only paranormal beings on board, and our bloodthirsty enemy isn’t happy we’re here.

A week ago, I didn’t even believe vampires were real, but now we’re being stalked by one. Trapped on the ship, with no way to call for help, it’s up to us to stop him and save the rest of the passengers… and ourselves. If we can’t, we might never set foot on land again.

Semester Aboard is the award-winning first book in the complete More than Magic series, by USA Today best-selling author, Elizabeth Kirke. If you like your urban fantasy reads mixed with a little suspense, adventure, and characters you'll fall in love with, you’ll want to sail away with this one today.

Not YA, but YA adjacent. The book was slow to start, and seemed to drag at times. Also some of the slang terms like rotten flippers,or whatever, felt like they were over the top. There was nothing really bad about the book, but a good editor might have punched it up a bit. There were a lot of missed opportunities to describe some wonderful locations.

I liked the book and concept.. jen is entitled and annoying tho. what makes her think they owe her their secrets... like the questions she asks... seriously

I enjoyed the book a lot though I found Jen a bit airheaded at times, she did redeem herself when she killed the vampire though. A very well written book indeed

About the author

In spite of having neither magic nor a clone, Elizabeth manages to write, format books, and dabble in design, all while wrangling two young sons, a dog, and a husband. She's the author of the award-winning, urban fantasy More than Magic series, the award-winning and USA Today Best-Selling, paranormal romance Curse Collectors series, and usually has a few more projects up her sleeves. When she isn't writing or designing, Elizabeth can be found knitting, gardening, baking, or looking for lost sippy cups.

A few highlights from her bucket list include visiting Wales, Easter Island, and Japan; learning a second language; and coming across a total stranger reading one of her books.
