About this ebook

A Fool Again is the story of Genevieve, who once made a dash to Gretna Greene to marry, but was caught by her father.

Now, a few years later, she attends the funeral of her elderly husband (not the man she ran away to marry) and who does she see but The One Who Got Away!

Can they make their love work this time around or will Genevieve be A Fool Again?

Erasmus Mulcaster was a tight-fisted miser who even dictated his funeral seed cakes from his deathbed, leaving behind a will that all but forces his young widow into matrimony. Installed in a handsome St. James’s Square town house, Genevieve thinks she has found the perfect civilized match in her late husband’s partner, Lucius Felton.

Instead, the newly minted widow finds herself pursued by two very different men. Tobias Darby has returned from India with a fortune in his pocket, an untamed grin, and every intention of making Genevieve his wife at last.

  • Second Chance: Seven years after her father halted their flight to Gretna Green, Tobias Darby returns from India to reclaim the only woman he ever loved.
  • Forced Proximity: Trapped together in a sudden downpour at Bartholomew Fair, Genevieve discovers that her proper resolve dissolves the instant Tobias pulls her close.
  • High Society Rivalry: While Tobias schemes to win her back, sleek and calculating Lucius Felton plots to claim Genevieve for himself—unless he can be bought off with prime horseflesh.
  • Also by This Author: Wilde in Love, When Beauty Tamed the Beast and Not That Duke.

About the author

Eloisa James is a USA Today and New York Times bestselling author and professor of English literature, who lives with her family in New York, but can sometimes be found in Paris or Italy. She is the mother of two and, in a particularly delicious irony for a romance writer, is married to a genuine Italian knight.
