Felicia Felicia has been documenting the intersection of remote work, travel, and technology since 2018, when she left her role as a product manager at a San Francisco SaaS company to work from a hammock in Bali — and promptly discovered that hammocks are terrible for productivity. That first year taught her more about what the nomad lifestyle actually requires than any blog post ever could, and she has been sharing those hard-won lessons ever since.
Over the past seven years, she has lived and worked from 34 cities across 22 countries, maintaining a full-time freelance writing career while testing coworking spaces, apartments, cafés, and visa processes firsthand. Her writing has appeared in *Remote Work Weekly*, *Nomad Magazine*, and *The Escape Artist*, and she has been quoted as a remote work expert in *Forbes*, *Business Insider*, and *The Guardian*. She founded the Nomad Prep Workshop, an online course that has helped over 4,000 professionals transition to location-independent work, and she hosts the weekly podcast *Roaming Professional*, which features interviews with experienced nomads discussing the practical realities of the lifestyle.
Felicia's approach to the digital nomad lifestyle is defined by a commitment to honest, practical guidance over romanticized portrayals. She believes the best nomad advice tells you not just where to go but what to watch out for — the loneliness curve, the burnout risk, the financial pitfalls, and the quiet moments when the lifestyle doesn't feel like a dream. Her writing prioritizes data, real-world testing, and the understanding that every nomad's journey is unique.
She currently splits her time between Lisbon, Portugal and Da Nang, Vietnam, with regular visits to her family in Portland, Oregon. She still hasn't found the perfect travel backpack and has accepted that she never will.
