Janice Wortham is a corporate communications consultant who has spent more than twenty years helping organizations and individuals write messages that get read, understood, and acted on. She began her career as a copy editor at a daily newspaper before moving into corporate communications, where she spent fifteen years leading internal communications at Fortune 500 companies in the technology and healthcare sectors. In those roles, she drafted executive announcements, managed crisis-communication responses, and redesigned how her teams handled everything from quarterly updates to difficult conversations.
In 2016, she founded Wortham Communications, a consulting practice that trains leadership teams in business writing, messaging, and presentation skills. Her workshops have reached thousands of professionals across banking, software, manufacturing, and nonprofit organizations, and her curriculum is used in several corporate onboarding programs. She writes a monthly newsletter called *The Clear Note*, featuring real-world message makeovers, and her articles have appeared in Ragan's PR Daily and the blog of the International Association of Business Communicators, where she is an active member.
Janice lives in Austin, Texas, with her two dogs. When she is not editing someone else's draft, she is reading a mystery novel or testing her own advice by writing the world's clearest grocery list.
