About this ebook

Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Q confront Trelane, the Squire of Gothos, in a Star Trek: The Next Generation adventure that collides parallel universes and brings together characters and history from The Original Series and The Next Generation.

In all of his travels Captain Jean-Luc Picard has never faced an opponent more powerful than Q, a being from another continuum that Picard encountered on his very first mission as Captain of the Starship Enterprise. In the years since, Q has returned again and again to harass Picard and his crew. Sometimes dangerous, sometimes merely obnoxious, Q has always been mysterious and seemingly all-powerful. Now a threat spanning parallel universes will force Picard into one of his most dangerous confrontations yet.

But this time, when Q appears, he comes to Picard for help. Another member of the Q Continuum has tapped into an awesome power source that makes this being more powerful than the combined might of the entire Continuum. This renegade Q is Trelane—also known as the Squire of Gothos, whom Captain Kirk and his crew first encountered over one hundred years ago. Armed with this incredible power, Trelane has become unspeakably dangerous.

Now Picard must become involved in an awesome struggle between super beings as alternate timelines collide. And this time the stakes are not just Picard’s ship, or the galaxy, or even the universe—this time the stakes are all of creation…

Terribly written. Almost every chapter jumps to another reality/multiverse. Chaotic and irritating to read. Roddenberry wold be cringing at the constant mentioning of religion of any kind in his legacy. He was very much against established religions. The best book written on Q is with John Delanci IQ. He carries over the very essence of Q. I wish he would write more.

I loved the Picard and Crusher secret relationship. And it was awsome to have Jack Crusher involed in the story. The best part was Q. Reading about how he lost control. Amazing book!
