Ryan Bartush is a board-certified health and wellness coach and the founder of Peak Performance Rest, a consulting practice that helps executives and high-performing professionals optimize their sleep for enhanced cognitive performance, metabolic health, and long-term resilience. Over the past twelve years, Ryan has worked with more than 500 clients across Fortune 500 companies, professional sports organizations, and elite military units, translating complex sleep science into practical protocols that deliver measurable results in demanding real-world environments.
Ryan holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States and is a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia practitioner through the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies in neuroscience at the University of Michigan, where his undergraduate research focused on circadian rhythm disruption in shift workers and its relationship to metabolic syndrome. He has completed advanced training in chronobiology through the Center for Circadian Biology at the University of California, San Diego, and remains an active member of the Sleep Research Society and the Society for Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
His approach integrates evidence-based sleep medicine with practical performance coaching, recognizing that busy professionals cannot afford theoretical solutions that fail to account for the realities of travel, high-stakes decision-making, and irregular schedules. Rather than prescribing rigid protocols that collapse under real-world pressure, Ryan builds adaptive sleep systems that flex with professional demands while protecting the core sleep architecture that drives peak performance.
Ryan has been featured as a sleep health contributor in *Forbes*, *Men's Health*, *The Wall Street Journal*, and *Entrepreneur* magazine. He is a regular speaker at corporate wellness conferences and has delivered keynote addresses at the National Association of Corporate Directors, the Society for Human Resource Management Annual Conference, and the Global Wellness Summit. He serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Wellness Coaching program at Georgetown University, where he teaches the sleep physiology and circadian health module.
Outside of his professional work, Ryan is an avid endurance athlete who has completed seven marathons and two Ironman triathlons. His personal experience with sleep deprivation during race training and international travel originally sparked his interest in sleep science and continues to inform his practical, results-oriented coaching philosophy. He lives in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife and two children, where he tests his own protocols against the demands of early morning training sessions, family life, and a cross-country consulting schedule.
