Sandra Camacho is a certified financial education instructor and parenting coach with over fifteen years of experience helping families build healthy relationships with money. She holds a certification in financial counseling from the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education and a degree in family studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
Sandra began her career as a high school teacher, where she witnessed firsthand the consequences of financial illiteracy — young adults graduating without the basic skills to manage a paycheck, evaluate a loan offer, or make a simple budget. This experience led her to develop MoneyTalk Families, an online education platform that has served more than fifty thousand parents across thirty countries. Her approach combines developmental psychology with practical financial education, recognizing that how children learn about money is as important as what they learn.
Sandra's work has been featured in *Parents* magazine, *The Wall Street Journal*, and NPR's Life Kit series on parenting. She has spoken at the National Council on Family Relations annual conference, the Jump$tart Coalition National Educator Conference, and hundreds of school districts and community organizations nationwide. Her first book, *The Money-Smart Parent*, grew out of the most common questions and concerns she has heard from parents in her workshops and coaching sessions over the past decade.
Sandra lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and two children, who have served as both her most honest critics and her most rewarding students. When she is not writing or teaching, she can be found coaching youth soccer, volunteering with Junior Achievement, or testing financial literacy games on her own highly opinionated focus group at the dinner table. She believes that every parent has the capacity to raise money-smart kids — not by being perfect, but by being present.
