About this ebook

A solitary man grows medicinal herbs in the Indiana woods, sells them to the drug houses, and has dreamed of a woman he has never met. Stratton-Porter waded into the Limberlost swamp with a heavy plate camera to photograph birds and wrote fiction to fund it; the botany here is a working herbalist's, not a novelist's, and the book sold in the millions.
