Fabulous cowboy romance, exquisite family setting! I was hooked right from the Dedication: "For anyone who's ever needed a morally gray hero covered in tattoos and wrapped in Wranglers, this one's for you." Pretty much describes my preferred book boyfriend. Cole certainly is all that and a bag of chips! So we've got the whole Weston clan on board for this story, introducing all the brothers while giving Cole the starring role as the romance hero with Delilah. As the first of what I hope will be a series of books focusing on each of the brothers, this book does a beautiful job of drawing the reader into the family history, the ranch, and their whiskey business. The setting seems so real and is so fully developed that it feels like a starring character on its own. Delilah is running from trouble, and is found by one of the Weston brothers who offers her their empty cabin as a refuge. Cole is predictably cold and distant, for as long as he could be anyway. Delilah is just trying to keep her business quiet while staying one step ahead of an unknown threat. Cole may fall slowly, but when he does fall, it's hard and irreversible. One of my favorite lines of his: "Darlin', when it comes to you, I don't have one goddamn ounce of common sense in my body." I love, love, love an overprotective cowboy who doesn't stop to ask why, just shows up to do what needs to be done. I agree entirely with Delilah when she says: "I like my whiskey like I like my cowboys. At least ten years older than me and made in Montana." Grab your favorite whiskey and dive into this amazing adventure. Beautiful HEA, loads of steamy romance along the way. Absolutely perfect.
