About this ebook

Seventeen-year-old Molly's recurrent nightmares become waking visions after she nearly drowns at a party.

Soon she's witnessing events through the eyes of a girl who lived in her father's house nearly a century before. Fleeing Ohio for her father's Victorian home in Hibben, Maine, she hopes the remote coast will bring peace.

Instead, the past refuses to stay buried. Every mirror in the drafty house reflects someone else's dark braids and flushed cheeks, pulling her into the memories of headstrong Clementine Horn.

When Jared Bernstein follows her north, they discover their waking visions are intertwined. Now an ancient hatbox, hidden away since 1912, pulls them toward a deadly secret in the rocky cove.

  • Dual Timeline: An eerie folk song humming in Molly’s ears bridges the decades, linking her modern life to a girl who lived in the same seaside house in 1912.

  • Supernatural Suspense: A near-drowning in an Ohio swimming pool sparks shared hallucinations of blood, seaweed, and an ocean squall that pull Jared Bernstein into the mystery.

  • Small Town Setting: The rugged fishing village of Hibben harbors long-held grudges, granite headstones, and a secluded cliffside cave perched high above the churning waves.

  • Historical Mystery: Unraveling the fate of the fishing schooner Grace leads Molly to an elderly survivor in a Benson nursing home who still awaits Clementine’s return.

  • Also by This Author: Time Windows, PaperQuake and Paint by Magic.

Couldn't put this book down. I purchased it when I was 16, but haven't read it until now and I'm 24! But, definitely loved it. I couldn't stop reading until I had finished the book. :)
