About this ebook

Charity Royall, raised out of a mountain settlement by the man who is now her guardian, spends one summer with a young architect from the city and understands, before he does, exactly how it will end. Fifty-six plates of summer light by Childe Hassam and Claude Monet, from Fifth Avenue to the Isles of Shoals, run alongside Wharton's New England summer like the season itself.
