About this ebook

You have a CNOR date. Hold it. Between now and then: 563 questions with every option explained, two full-length practice exams of 185 items, a 13-day plan across all seven subject areas. No login, no expiry.

We built this the way a perioperative educator runs an in-service, not the way a shelf gets filled. We started from CCI's Test Content Outline: 200 items in a three-hour-forty-five-minute appointment, 185 of them scored. Management of Intraoperative Activities carries 34 percent, more than double any other subject area. Infection Prevention and Control takes 16 percent, Pre/Postoperative Assessment 15, Communication and Documentation 11. Emergency Situations takes 10 percent, Plan of Care 8, Professional Accountability 6. Your thirteen evenings are divided the same way, four inside the operation. Check us against CCI's published outline, subject area by subject area. We would rather you did.

What's inside

Four days inside the operation. Positioning and padding, skin antisepsis, sterile field, surgical counts, instrumentation, specimen handling, hemostasis. The exam scores that block at 34 percent, so it takes four of your thirteen evenings.

563 original questions, every option explained. You'll see why the safe action is safe, and why the plausible one breaks asepsis, the count, or the record.

Two full-length practice exams of 185 questions. That is the scored count inside a 200-item sitting, weighted the way CCI weights the seven areas.

Two cumulative reviews of 15 questions, set after Day 7 and after Day 13. Sterile technique stays awake while you learn malignant hyperthermia.

A 25-question diagnostic placed near the end, sampling all seven areas. Use it as a calibration reading the week before you sit.

An honest note on 2027. CCI has adopted a job task analysis that consolidates seven subject areas into six, effective 2027. This edition teaches the outline in force now. Perhaps the last review book you bought was a glossary with a quiz bolted on. Give it three evenings. If the first days tell you nothing you did not already know, put it down. An hour is all it cost.

Three kinds of nurse use this. A circulator sitting the CNOR first time. Someone re-testing after one subject area went wrong. A scrub nurse whose hospital now wants the credential on file. If you run complex cases every week, start at Day 8.

Day 5 is a grind. Counts, instrument trays, electrosurgery, tourniquets, one sitting. Work it anyway; everything after it is lighter. Downloaded once, yours to keep.

About the author

Passmark builds one kind of book: the one that makes your study hours count. We start from a simple conviction — a certification exam is a skills test, not a memory test — so we never hand you a wall of facts to reread. Our method comes from the science of how memory actually holds: you learn by retrieving, not rereading; you revisit on a widening schedule so it sticks; every answer is explained, right and wrong, so you keep the reasoning; and a diagnostic points your hours where they will move your score. We read each exam's current blueprint ourselves, write every question from scratch, and check every number in the book — question counts, domain weights, practice tests — against the finished pages, not the marketing. When an exam changes, our books change with it.
